California Poppy - Eschscholzia californica
Thank goodness for grandchilren--Garrett and September brought me enough California Poppy - Eschscholzia californica to obtain 4 quarts of garbled herb to make nervine tincture for my herbal apothecary. California Poppy in all it's silvery green foliage and brilliant golden petals gathered into a basket prior to laying out to dry. It will take six weeks for the herb to macerate and then be separated from its marc before it can be bottled for use. I will post later an explanation of my special method for extracting that last bit of herbal goodness with less waste.
